NORTH EAST REVIEW MEETING
The Department of Land Resources hosted a North East Regional Review Meeting for Integrated Watershed Management Programme from 17th to 19th January, 2012 at Kohima. The meeting was attended by a total of 19 delegates from the states of Assam, Tripura, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Sikkim and dignitaries from the Department of Land Resources, Government of India, New Delhi.
Interactive Session with the Nagaland Information Commission
A one day Sensitization-Cum-Interactive Session with the Nagaland Information Commission (NIC) was held on 13th September 2011 at the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Land Resources, Kohima, Nagaland. The programme was chaired by Shri. M.Patton, Secretary, Department of Land Resources. Power Point presentation of the Department was delivered by Shri. Mhathung Yanthan, Addl. Director, Land Resources.
A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO RUBBER PLANTATION
Peren District is bestowed with rich fertile land having diverse agro-climatic condition ranging from tropical to temperate type of climate. The Jalukie valley stretching from Punglwa to Khelma falls under tropical type of climate while the whole stretch from Tening area to Poilwa villages falls under Sub-tropical to temperate type of climate. Accordingly, different crops have been successfully promoted in the district on the basis of agro-climatic zone.
Training at Ralegan , Maharashtra
A team of 15(Fifteen) Members led by Tepunol Yore, APO and WDT Members attended a 15(Fifteen) day training at Ralegaon, Maharashtra from 1st to 15th March, 2011. The training included theory, Field visit and Practical classes. The training was based on the guidelines of IWMP.
